Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Paul Felix served as an ordained minister at Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix discovered early that she was gifted for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Following her initial audition she was ranked within the top two places in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 200-meter sprint in only 10 weeks. In 2003, Felix was a senior in high school having signed a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. The first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to take home the 200 meters race. In 2007 she defended that title, beating her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently in the top 3 throughout her events during the Olympics held at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
